About This Cause

Responding to Climate Crisis in Kasese District In Sept 2020, BELIEVE visited Karusandara Seed SS Camp in Kasese district, where flooding of Rivers Mubuku and Sebwe had displaced over 4,000 households since May 2020. Challenges:
• Destroyed crops (vanilla, cocoa, rice, maize, tomatoes, cassava)
• Submerged animal grazing grounds
• Damaged footbridges and roads
• Limited access to healthcare
• Contaminated water sources (boreholes submerged)
• Risk of malaria and cholera
• Shortage of basic supplies (tents, food, sanitary pads, mattresses, clothes)
CYE BELIEVE NETWORK’s Response:
• Emergency relief: food, mattresses, agricultural supplies (seeds, herbicides)
• Supporting rescue teams with protective gear (gloves, gumboots, marine head socks, life jackets)
• Addressing flooding issues to protect vulnerable populations (expectant mothers, children)
Our Commitment: To provide urgent aid and sustainable solutions for climate-resilient communities
